Christians are often accused of judging others. And while everyone, even Christians, can fall into that judgmental trap, usually that is not the case. Usually when a born again Christian shares with you what the Bible says, they are sharing truth and they are sharing it out of concern. No one likes to hear truth when it points out correction in their own life.
Note that I said born again Christian. That’s because many people identify as Christian because their grandmother attended a protestant church, they have some head knowledge of God, or they don’t identify as some religion that worships another god. But that isn’t the same thing as someone who has a heart knowledge of Jesus, who has accepted Him as their personal Savior, who trusts and has a true relationship with Him.
So today, I’m going to be talking to Christians… both those who are truly born again but may be misguided and those that call themselves that but are not. I can know of no one’s salvation but my own. But as the old saying goes, sometimes we are fruit inspectors.
Matthew 7:16-20 King James Version (KJV)
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Sadly I know people that profess salvation but never darken the door of a church – Hebrews 10:25 (KJV)
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching and Romans 10:17 (KJV)
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God ; live exactly like the world -1 John 2:15 (KJV)
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him; and support ideas and lifestyles that are contrary to the Bible -2 Timothy 3: 16-17 (KJV) All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works, Psalm 119: 105 ( KJV)Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
James 1: 22 (KJV)
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
Luke 11: 28 (KJV)
But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.
Now I can’t say what the circumstances of their souls are. I know that even the most devout can fall. The Bible warns us that our adversary is going to and fro seeking to devour us. And those of you who may know me personally know that I’ve had times that I’ve been in a state of back sliding and my walk has not been what it should be. But I’m not talking about that. I’m talking about someone who has never had any change in their life, who is and has always been unconcerned with the things of God, who blatantly says they are a Christian in one sentence and then supports that which is ungodly in the next. If you fall in that category, I’m not judging you, I”m telling you that you don’t line up with what God’s Word says and begging you to check your heart before it’s too late. If you fall into the category that I’ve been in myself, saved but fallen away, I’m begging you, prodigal child, to come home. You eternity may be secure, but you will have no peace in this life living this way. But most importantly, you are leading you loved ones to heaven or hell. But don’t forget the ten virgins and the wheat and the tares. There will be those whose fruit isn’t so easy to see; those that will go to hell straight from a church pew. And to you, I also beg you, check your heart before it’s too late.
We’ve already established that the Word of God is inspired and true and that we are to follow it. To do that, we must read it. That is the guide line, the moral compass for our lives, not popular opinion and not even our own opinions and emotions. If you say that you love God and you believe in Him, then you believe 100% in the Bible. There is no in between. Revelation 3:16 (KJV)
So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth
You either believe or you don’t. It’s that simple. You don’t get to pick and choose. So if you don’t completely believe, then you don’t believe period and please stop calling yourself Christian and misleading others.
And now that I’ve presented all this lead up, the real topic today is abortion.
Jeremiah 1:5 (KJV)
Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
God knows us before we are even born. He has plans and a purpose for us. We may never know what that is this side of heaven, but trust Him. When we take that life before it even has a chance, we are stopping that person from fulfilling their destiny, which in turn impacts other lives. I realize that’s a frequent pro life verse, so let me give you something else to consider. Luke 1: 41 And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost: Wow!! Before John the Baptist was born, he recognized Jesus who also had not been born yet. Do you get how deep that is. John, nor Jesus, were clumps of cells. They were alive and with purpose!
Psalm 22:10 (KJV)
I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother’s belly.
Exodus 20: 13 (KJV) Thou shalt not kill
Psalm 106:37-38 (KJV)
Yea, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto devils, And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Canaan: and the land was polluted with blood
Comparing abortion to child sacrifice? Yes. Anything we put above God is an idol to us. So giving into lust of the flesh, convenience, keeping secrets… all those things we are putting above what God tells us when we abort that unborn child. And I do realize that there are cases, such as rape, where you are innocent in how that child was conceived. But that child is innocent and there are those who would be grateful to raise it.
Those that profess salvation who are pro choice, you are wrong. Not because I say so, but because His word says so. Those that profess salvation and support any of the current hot button topics that are politically correct but not Biblically correct, you are wrong. Not because I say so, but because His Word says so. If you profession is real and this is your stance, I’m sure God has already dealt with you. Please don’t harden you heart. And if you profession isn’t real… if it’s just a head knowledge like we’ve discussed before… the first thing I would beg you is to make it real and get a heart knowledge. And for those who may read this who don’t even pretend to care about the things of God, He is real. Heaven is real. Hell is real. And the only way to eternal salvation is through Jesus. I beg you not to harden you heart but to realize that if you have not already been called to accept the gift of salvation, you will be. Please don’t turn it down. Message me if you need help.
I leave you with these last thoughts: Proverbs 6: 16-19
These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
There is no more innocent blood than that of an unborn child.
Isaiah 5:20 (KJV)
Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! It’s not good to be in a place where you are calling good that which God has called evil. Woe unto you.
And to those of us who have heavy hearts over this issue, there is hope: 2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV)
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land
And it is our only hope.
